Privacy notice

This page explains what personal data the capitalunits.org website collects, why it collects it, how long it keeps it and how you can exercise your rights. It is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

This is a translation of the Italian notice. In case of any difference, the Italian version prevails.

What data we collect

When you download the Foundations. Your email address, which is required, and, if you choose to give them, your full name and company. We also record the date of the request, whether you asked to receive updates, and the country the connection comes from, as roughly estimated by the site's infrastructure.

When you fill in the Get involved form. Your full name, email, the profile you identify with, your company or firm if you give it, and the message you write, together with the date it was sent and the estimated country of the connection.

When you write to info@capitalunits.org. The address you write from and whatever you choose to tell us in your message.

Technical browsing data. Like any website, the server automatically records some technical data (IP address, browser, time of the request) needed to run and protect the site. We do not use it to identify or profile you.

Please do not enter special categories of data in the forms, such as information about health, political opinions or religious beliefs: they are not needed.

Why we process it and on what basis

To send you the Foundations you requested. Legal basis: carrying out your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without your email we cannot give you access to the document.
To send you updates on the model: a few emails a year, only if you ticked the relevant box. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us or using the link in every email, with no effect on the download already made.
To reply to your expression of interest or to your email and to explore a collaboration together. Legal basis: carrying out your request (Art. 6(1)(b)).
To protect the site from abuse, automated submissions and cyber attacks. Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in the security of the service (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not sell or pass your data on to third parties, we do not use it for advertising and we do not take automated decisions about you.

Who else processes the data

The data is processed by the controller and by technical providers acting as data processors, only as far as necessary to provide the service:

Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the site and the database in which form submissions are stored;
the email service provider for the info@capitalunits.org mailbox.

Cloudflare is based in the United States. The transfer takes place on the basis of its participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and of the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long we keep it

Data from requests for the Foundations: up to 24 months from the last contact.
Data for updates: for as long as your consent remains active. If you withdraw it, your address is removed from the list.
Data from the Get involved form and from emails: for as long as needed to reply and to pursue any collaboration, and in any case no longer than 24 months from the last contact.
Technical browsing data: for the short period set by the hosting provider's systems.

You can ask for deletion at any time, even before these periods end.

Cookies

The site does not use profiling cookies, analytics or advertising tracking tools, and it does not load resources from third-party services: even the typefaces are hosted on the site itself. Cloudflare's infrastructure may set technical cookies strictly necessary for security, for which consent is not required.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, receive it in a readable format or object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw your consent to updates whenever you wish. Just write to info@capitalunits.org: we reply within thirty days.

If you believe the processing is not correct, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

Changes

If we change the way we process data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
